Canadian design firm Uufie builds this lake cottage in the birch and spruce tree forest of Ontario’s Bolsover region. The house, built with black steel and charred cedar wood, is covered with mirrors that surreally reflect the surrounding nature. The locally sourced materials naturally protect against termites and fire, their thickness and A-shape roof providing the occupants good heat insulation for the winter. Unlike the shiny and black exterior, the interior is light timber, warmly taking in the light from the surrounding windows.
