Korean designer Jinil Park has created furniture from simple line sketches, by modelling three-dimensional forms using wire. The ‘Drawing Furniture Series’ was inspired by sketches of furniture pieces and then crafted in to real usable items, while still keeping the original two-dimensional appearance. Multiple wires of varying thicknesses were hammered together, and then further reinforced by welding to give structural strength and render the items functional. Emphasis was placed on lines that looked distorted to give a sketchy feel in the final design. A chair, armchair, side table and desk lamp complete the series.
