Located in Westhampton Beach, New York, the Bay House takes in the surrounding area and is built according to the land on which it sits. Designed by Leroy Street Studio, a main objective in the design was to elevate the house on piles as it sits on a flood plain. Split into two sections by a wood boardwalk that runs from the front to the back of the site, the back deck faces onto marshland and offers views of the bay. The facade is comprised of slatted timber and pierced with large glass windows that reflect the sky, allowing the modernist design to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings.
