Petrol heads have been stamping their feet for news on a drop-top model of the BMW M4 ever since the automotive giant announced it was retiring the old M3 badge. And now it’s here: the 2015 BMW M4 Convertible, due to get its first physical unveiling at the New York Auto Show later this year. As you would expect, looks-wise it’s the same fluid curves and cat-like front end as the hardtop model, sitting on top of darkened two-spoke rims, slender tires and taught, low-slung suspension. Meanwhile, under the bonnet it’s got that knee-quivering 3-liter, 425 bhp twin turbo engine – the only difference being you can now hear every bit of it growl as you sink your foot down. Sales of the vehicle will begin in 2015, and if you can’t make it to the motor show, you’ll have to make do with the pictures here for now.
