French artist Paulo Grangeon, in collaboration with the WWF, PMQ and creative studio allrightsreserved, has imagined a campaign featuring 1,600 papier-mâché pandas in order to raise awareness for the endangered species. The number refers to the amount of pandas in the wild, while a similar initiative by the artist has already taken place in other global cities including Paris, Berlin, Rome and Taipei. Naturally, the popup installation will be inserted in front of the country’s most recognizable landmarks in an effort to bring attention to the declining species.
