Where form meets function

Every great architecture project starts with a search. After two years of looking for the perfect location, the owners of the Toro Canyon House knew they had found the right spot for them: atop a mountain in the Southern Californian foothills, just next to a nature reserve outside of Montecito. In fact, the location was so remote that they had to construct a new road just to reach it. The house Bestor Architecture built for them there, however, was everything they could ask for. Open spaces to connect living and entertaining areas, sturdy single-story design that fits into the landscape, and everywhere around them that incredible view. It seems good things really do come to those who wait.
