Where the runway meets the street

Our latest Buyer’s Guide is curated by French e-tailer MENLOOK.

Sometimes it’s OK to ask for advice on what to wear, especially if the person answering has a wardrobe the size of MENLOOK. We asked the online retail giant to curate a Buyer’s Guide for that awkward mid-spring period that’s often warm, occasionally wet and always a bit tricky to plan for.

It’s no wonder then they curated a selection of goods that spans the unpredictable, although generally decent, weather ahead. From waterproof jackets and linen shirts to baseball caps and hemp sneakers, there’s something for everyone to last them through the ongoing Spring/Summer 2014 season. So without futher ado, here’s what they came back with.

Dunoon Black Waterproof by Mackintosh

If there’s one thing you can rely on about spring, it’s certainly not the weather. With a surprise downpour so often on the cards, you want something that will keep you dry but won’t weigh you down as you move around town. This long jacket is partially lined and features fully taped seams for protection against the elements, while the wide collar and concealed placket keep things smart and minimal.

Flag Striped Oxford Shirt by Maison Kitsuné

Reassuringly well-tailored, this sharp oxford has just enough going on to make it interesting without becoming over the top. The wide spread button-down collar looks great with a single button popped, while the slightly looser fit of the sleeves should keep you comfortable even on warmer days. Works equally well paired with light chinos or something dark and navy.
