In his lifetime, William A. Clark amassed an incredible fortune and a trove of treasures that reflect American history during the late 1800s. One of the first American titans of industry, Clark founded Las Vegas through his railroad ventures and also served as Senator of Montana in the early 1900s. Jay Z’s Life+Times recently had the opportunity to take an inside look at Clark’s collection on auction at Christie’s including artwork from John Singer Sargent, literature from Walt Whitman, and one of the greatest violins ever made known as “The Kreutzer.”
