One of the world’s largest retailers, H&M, recently opened its flagship NYC Fifth Avenue store. To make sure it opened with a bang, the Swedish brand teamed up with both the Whitney Museum of American Art and iconic pop artist Jeff Koons to celebrate. Not only does the store have a museum-inspired interior, but H&M were the retail sponsor of the Whitney Museum of American Art’s “Jeff Koons: A Retrospective.” They then turned to Koons who applied a print of his iconic Balloon Dog to two different leather handbag styles for a limited edition range. These handbags will be available in select stores across the U.S., including Chicago, LA and Dallas, as well as online from July 17. A select number of pieces will also be sold at the Whitney during the retrospective.
