Where the runway meets the street

A brand new menswear label has just launched in Japan with an impressive debut collection of shirts, jackets, hoodies and outerwear. Referencing Mary Shelley’s infamous mad scientist, Dr. Franken aims to create garments that “question the ever-changing face of today’s environment.” While we can’t exactly see the connection between this crisp line of men’s apparel and a man who builds monsters from old corpses, we’re always happy to see a new face in the village of fashion – even if that face happens to be a giant light bulb. The full collection goes on sale Monday, July 7 at a dedicated Dr. Franken pop-up store in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, with a full supporting party to be held on Friday, July 11.
