Mathew Strong bends and weaves carbon fiber to form a contemporary take on a Eames-style sofa. Inspiring off of two of the 20th century’s greatest furniture designers, the Michigan based designer does what Charles and Ray Eames might have done if they had experimented with modern materials.

By using sculptural techniques, Strong’s design comfortably supports the contours of a human’s sitting posture without the need of upholstery. It stays transparent because of this, so your guests can admire how meticulous the construction of the “Eames Sofa” is. See more of Matthew Strong’s work on his portfolio page.
