Shinola, with the help of photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber, create a set of leashes, collars and pillow beds for man’s best friend. Although this is a bit unordinary for the Detroit label, these pet accessories keep to the brand’s overarching values of American-made luxury and quality. Weber has playfully stated that the collaboration was inspired by “his dogs’ persistent barking.”

The release is also about raising awareness and helping others: Through The Empowerment Plan, women from local Detroit shelters are trained in the art of industrial sewing and manufacturing to fashion the plush balls that are part of Weber’s collaborative collection.

Aside from the accessories, pet portraits taken by Weber will be sold as limited-edition postcards and notebooks. The items will range from $15 to $225 and will be available starting August 19 at Shinola’s brick-and-mortar stores and online shop.
