Michael Maccari comes at us as the new creative director for Perry Ellis. The former fashion director and senior vice president of design at Armani Exchange made the move earlier this year, now bringing Perry Ellis back to New York Fashion Week after the brand’s three-year break. With Maccari at the helm, their Spring/Summer 2015 collection, “Changes and Horizontals,” will walk the runway this September 4. The new collection is said to elevate PE’s sartorial IQ with updated materials and tighter tailoring, which are undoubtedly influenced by Maccari’s previous work at labels such as J.Crew and Calvin Klein.

Here, Perry Ellis gave us an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at their upcoming menswear collection, with snippets of Maccari’s design process as well as an interview. We can see glimpses of really interesting fabric and clean styles that have us excited for the new collection. Take a look yourself below and watch out for what they’ll be showcasing come September 4.
