As the legalization of marijuana inches ever nearer in several states, some of the world’s most famous pot smokers’ likeness are being used to promote the plant. None perhaps more famous than Mr. Bob Marley himself. The musician’s estate has licensed Marley’s name and likeness to create a special blend of herb, dubbed Marley Natural, in cahoots with Privateer Holdings, a private equity group specializing in the legal marijuana market. Those “heirloom Jamaican cannabis strains” that Marley himself smoked will be mass produced on the company’s 60,000-square-foot property on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, which is officially the world’s largest marijuana grow farm. The blend won’t hit pot-legal states until mid-2015 but you can be sure that Marley will become the Marlboro man of the marijuana industry once it arrives.

Stay tuned for more information and check out the world’s first gourmet cannabis cookbook in the meantime.
