After keeping relatively quiet at German photography trade show photokina, electronics giant Sony finally unveils the followup model to the A7. The key talking point of the second generation full-frame A7 II model is certainly its 5-axis stabilization function. For still imagery, the implications for slower shutter speeds are quite interesting and for video imagery – obviously without a tripod – stabalization is paramount. The A7 II also boasts a faster autofocus, a tilted preview screen, and weather and dust proofing. The Sony A7 II is due to release in Japan on December 5 and Europe in January, with no details yet on a U.S. release.
