Architect Johan Sundberg has us dreaming about summer holidays with this beautifully designed wood summer house on the Baltic Sea coastline of southern Sweden. Sommarhus Akenine, as it is known, is a private summer cabin getaway that is wrapped in Siberian larch wood and floor-to-ceiling windows that take in the beauty of the surrounding forest. The cabin sits on three concrete beams that slightly elevate the it, which gives it the appearance of “hover[ing] slightly above the ground,” as described by the architect. The summer house’s simplicity is both inspiring and aspirational. See for yourself above.
