Google Cast, the same technology behind Chromecast, now lets you cast your favorite music from your mobile device to your speakers, sound bars and A/V receivers. Designed to give you more freedom while listening to music, once you’ve picked a song to cast, you can continue using your phone to take a phone call, play a game, send a text, and even leave the room, without interrupting what’s playing on the speakers or draining your phone’s battery. Also, Google Cast streams your music directly from the cloud instead of from your phone, so you won’t lose any sound quality.

Google Cast works with Android phone and tablets, iPhone, iPad and from the Chrome browser on your Mac, Windows PC or Chromebook. The first Google Cast Ready speakers will first be available in the U.S. this spring from Sony, LG and HEOS by Denon with more brands coming later in 2015. For more information head over to Google.
