As is his want, and he’s earnt it, Paul Smith uses London Collections: Men as an opportunity to showcase just one element of his upcoming collection. Last time round we got a rainbow of smart shoes and for Fall/Winter 2015 we’re introduced to ‘A Suit To Travel In’ via a quite spectacular floorshow. Taking over Hauser & Wirth gallery on Savile Row, his “uniquely dynamic tailoring” put through its paces by a crew of professional and olympic gymnasts choreographed by former Head of Movement for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Struan Leslie.
Flips, tricks, spins and a gravity-defying three man tower proved this high-twist 100% wool yarn suit could withstand even the toughest test. Crease-resistant, finished with high density corozo nut buttons and a split melton collar with contrast panels set to be a continuing style through seasons to come. For those who wish to get practising their forward rolls in style; a limited preview of the suit available now at Paul Smith No. 9 Albemarle Street and Paul Smith online.
