Working with optical illusions, Brazilian architecture firm Jacobsen Arquitetura create the RT Residence in Laranjeiras, a two-level home disguised as a bungalow, playing with raised levels and placing the lower level half-buried underground. Flattering windows and proper ventilation allow for the bottom half of the home to mimic a ground level set-up, which features an impressive home theatre, gym and sauna. The roof also plays a trick to the eyes, appearing flat from the outside, sloped from the interior, all made possible by wooden eaves and glass construction on top of a peak to create a clean and rigid design. With views from the patio over looking lush mountains and sandy beaches, the perfect home for kicking back and taking in the vista.
