Tune in and turn up

Following the first two episodes of Noisey’s exploration of the hip-hop/rap music scene in Atlanta which spotlighted ties to organized crime like Big Meech’s Black Mafia Family as well as catching up with upstarts, Migos, the third episode dives further into the culture and the movers and shakers both in front of the mic and behind the scenes. Speaking with Kevin “Coach K” Lee, an Indiana transplant who’s lived in Atlanta since 1996, Coach K has managed almost all of Atlanta’s biggest rappers at some point – most notably Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane. While their feud is notable, it’s surprising to learn that despite Gucci’s current incarceration, he remains “just as prominent as ever – even though he’s currently locked up until 2016.”
