The 30th edition of the International Festival of Fashion and Photography at Hyères is coming together. The festival, which will take place in April of this year, announced its finalists after a jury meeting at the end of last month. Out of over 700 entries, only 10 fashion designers and 10 photographers made the cut.

Interestingly enough, the most-represented country is Germany, who took over the womenswear category (three out of seven designers). Finland and France came second overall, while Taiwan and India remain as the only two non-Western countries from the entire list.

The Hyères festival is known to churn out some extremely successful designers and artists like Viktor & Rolf, Henrik Vibskov and Gaspard Yurkievich. But what’s even more notable is its impressive list of partners and jurors: Chanel is the invited guest of honor this year, with Karl Lagerfeld being the event’s Artistic Director (LVMH Group is a main partner). Members of the jury include Carine Roitfeld, Olivier Zahm, Stephen Gan, Andre Saraiva and Solve Sundsbo; alumni jurors include Yohji Yamamoto and Paolo Roversi. It’s all surely a notable and impressive list, indeed.

Although the festival has been — and still is — geared more toward womenswear designers, we are looking forward to what will come of this event. You can find all of the dates and times of the festival here, and see below for the full list of finalists:
