Montreal-based architecture firm Naturehumaine realize the dreams of their nature-loving client with this home built in the rural Eastern Townships of Quebec. Surrounded by the woodlands, the home is placed on a slope, a concrete structure and wooden volume working with the side of the mountain supporting the building. In the snow-covered months, the home appears to be among the tree tops, with the concrete support blending into the white, rocky terrain. The interiors follow a clean, minimal design below a wooden geometric ceiling effect. From the living space, the large horizontal window looks out onto Mount Orford, the surrounding valleys making for an idyllic setting.
