French leather masters, Bleu de Chauffe, step aside from their beautiful line of sturdy carriers for a moment, creating something special with Nantes notebook brand, Calepino. Describing themselves as “a product of today bearing a timeless surge of quality,” the stationery maker took inspiration from a found set of journals belonging to the grandfather of founder Fabrice Richard. The name derived from “Calepin,” a popular little portable notebook for jotting down thoughts, the company combine an old-school ethos with a modern approach. With friends Bleu de Chauffe, they create “Portfolio,” a protective vegetable tanned leather cover complete with three dot-grid notebooks. This take on cardboard elasticated folders comes in four strap versions, red, green, blue and grey, each book holding up to four journals.
