In 1885 Yong Koon, a young Chinese pewtersmith, set out to Kuala Lumpur to begin his business as a craftsman, creating a range of objects from pewter and calling the company Royal Selangor. Still in the family, the brand that stemmed from Mr.Koon’s pursuits holds an impressive résumé, responsible for Formula One trophies and LVMH Moët Hennessy chillers.

Showing their respect for Mr.Koon and celebrating 130 years of Royal-Selangor, avant-garde eyewear label Rigards have dedicated a very special model to the man, inspired by a pair of spectacles he wore all his life. Royal Selangor provides the pewter used in the round frame, fused with horn materials. The bridge works with an “M” shape, while the arms are slim, finished with a hammered satin effect. Keep an eye on the Rigards website for more info on this beautiful pair of glasses.
