Bringing a cunning interview style that is equal parts comedic as it is informative, Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver landed an interview with one of the United States’ most polarizing figures: Edward Snowden. With the controversial Patriot Act’s Section 215 scheduled to expire this June which gives the government immense power to monitor “any tangible thing” in relation to a terrorism investigation, Oliver trekked to Russia where Snowden is living in exile to get his take on issues of privacy, net neutrality and more. The result has plenty of laughs, but Oliver also holds Snowden’s feet to the fire on several issues – including whether he had actually read every single document he had turned over.

In other Edward Snowden news, a trio of artists installed a bust of the whisteblower in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn where they fused it to part of the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument, a memorial to Revolutionary War soldiers.
