Roughly eight years after the entertaining series called it quits, it is now being reported that MTV2 will once again be reviving Celebrity Deathmatch. The show highlights a pair of entertainers or pop culture favorites facing off in a fictitious, animated battle in the ring. The series initially launched in 1998 and was first cancelled in 2002. MTV2 then brought Celebrity Deathmatch back in 2005, although it didn’t air until 2006, but only for a one-season run.

Celebrity Deathmatch creator Eric Fogel and Wasteland Entertainment are behind the new incarnation, with Chris McCarthy and Paul Ricci also on board.

Not NYC, not LA.
