Zgharta, North Lebanon, welcomes this modern and open home created by platau architects. Surrounded by lush Mediterranean olive groves, the two-storey house incorporates large glass walls within its traditional stone frame to allow for unobstructed views of the verdant landscape. Making the most of the year-round warmth, the outdoor and indoor areas blend seamlessly into one another, large sliding doors connecting the two spaces. Giving the home a rustic feel while maintaining its green credentials sandstone cladding, white concrete and low energy glazing are utilized across the two levels. In the spirit of eco-friendly design, platau extend the flat roof to provide much needed shade to this south-facing build, eliminating the need for an air conditioning system; a nod to thoughtful design.
