In a new delivery system initiative, Amazon has teamed up with Audi and DHL for a trial that delivers Amazon Prime purchases directly to Audi cars. DHL drivers will be given a temporary access code and GPS coordinates to the point of delivery, allowing them to gain entry into the car’s trunk. Once the item has been delivered and the trunk closed, the unlock code expires, triggering the car to lock automatically. Depending on the success of the program, there is potential for Audi to expand the service in the future. Audi’s latest pilot project will begin testing under real-world conditions this May in Munich, Germany.
