Teranishi takes us to the dreamy wilderness of Iceland for its latest lookbook, which displays an assortment of its canvas-focused bags and handmade goods. The Washington label aims towards “blurring the lines between craft/design, function/form [and] tradition/progression” through an impressive accessories line-up. The collection’s waxed canvas roll-top rucksacks, “Excursion” packs, leather bookmarks and key clips are complemented by the incredible beauty the Nordic country. Throughout the editorial, we are treated to views of frozen mountains, vast landscapes and pristine rushing waterfalls.
Canvas is still relatively new territory for the small label, but you’d never be able to tell from its well-executed assortment. And, while canvas took much of the focus this season, Teranishi’s roots in leather still come forward in its workshop, and the collection as a whole. Vegetable-tanned, full-grain leather makes its way onto the details of the canvas pieces, and there are still bag models fully dedicated to the tough, organic material.
