The Rapha Prestige Launceston took place last month in Tasmania, Australia. Described not as a race, but as “an unsupported and unmarshalled adventure across stunning terrain,” Rapha Prestiges are organized with comradely riding in mind.
For the most recent Prestige in Laucneston, Rapha teamed up with Kintaro Studios to produce “Sleeping Giants.” The short film takes an intimate look at the Prestige’s host Michael Wilson, who also took part in the trip. Wilson and his wife Mary own and manage Velo Wines, which officially hosted the race.
The film meditates on Wilson’s childhood, love of biking and his own history as a pro athlete, with beautiful shots of the Prestige route through the Tasmanian countryside. Watch the short above, and learn more about the Rapha Prestige Launceston here.
