Whether you were one of the millions who coughed up $100 USD to watch the fight on HBO or Showtime PPV, or you managed to find a streaming site to watch it, most who witnessed the bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao were underwhelmed by the event. As has become the case for major sporting moments, a dose of nostalgia has been infused in order to provide a comical look at the “fight of the century.” Re-imagining the bout in the NES world of Punch-Out!!, things like the game menu are used to mock the fight negotiations, while the referee for the bout, Mario, instructs Mayweather that “hugging” isn’t allowed in the game.
