Streetwear label SSUR has unveiled a lookbook for their latest collection, “New York Summer 1977.” Inspired by a year in which the city plummeted into a total free-for-all, spurred on by events like the recruitment of Yankees superstar Reggie Jackson and a city-wide blackout, the collection recalls a time when New Yorkers came completely unglued. Meanwhile, a .44 caliber pistol-wielding mad man known as “Son of Sam” prowled the streets looking for his next victim. These headlines grabbed major public attention and are represented as pinstriped baseball jerseys, graphic hats and T-shirts, and tank tops.
