The Dutch sneaker label, Mercer Amsterdam, present their latest looks for the Fall/Winter season, with their signature Runner 2.0 taking center-stage.
Mercer's Runner straddles the line between everyday luxe and a supportive, modern piece of sportswear. Its contemporary classic silhouette comes in a range of minimal colorways including burgundy, black, olive, navy, as well as low-key Coco and Pied de Poule prints. The insole is gel-layered for extra comfort, while the upper employs a mix of soft and supple Italian leather and suede. To ensure quality and full creative control, construction and design has been kept entirely in-house. All of Mercer Amsterdam's sneakers are European made, with creative teams in Amsterdam using premium Italian-sourced tanned hides, while all production takes place in Portugal.
Taking the New York SoHo district's Mercer Street as the starting point, where founder Pim Dresen bought his first ever pair of sneakers, Mercer Amsterdam's unique history informs its ethos. The attitude and style from two of the world's streetwear capitals, New York and the Dutch capital, arguably informs the label's designs.
The fall/winter collection is rounded off with two timeless silhouettes: a smart-casual Midtop as well as a Lowtop sneaker. Like the Runner 2.0, materials focus on suede and leather while colorways are kept minimal: monochrome dominates the finish, while only the Midtop diverts slightly, available with a black outsole and a green upper.
