Where form meets function

Jeff Koons’ Pluto and Proserpina, an 11-foot, gold-colored stainless steel statue, is set to go on display in front of the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence’s town hall and civic museum, from September 25 until December 28. The initiative is being organized in conjunction with the Biennale Internazionale dell’Antiquariato, the city’s biggest art and antiques fair. Koons’ work will be featured alongside Renaissance sculptures in the Piazza della Signoria, including a replica of Michaelangelo’s David.
