Fashion and food are two lifestyle disciplines which easily belong together. High fashion retailers have added food experiences to their flagship stores for a long time and today more than ever, food plays a very important role in fashion and lifestyle. In March 2014, Italian luxury brand Prada became a majority shareholder of the historical pastry shop Pasticceria Marchesi. This week the first Pasticceria Marchesi flagship is opening its doors under Prada’s reign, on the luxury street Via Montenapoleone in the heart of Milan.
Prada is working with the founding family to ensure that the concept is rolled out as close to the original as possible, while staying true to the design of the original store. Prada worked with its go-to architect Roberto Baciocchi to create a slightly more modern identity for the shop front, which features custom-made fine china by Rosenthal and silver cutlery, resulting in a very luxurious experience. Open every day of the week including Sunday, the new Pasticceria Marchesi flagship serves everything form breakfast and lunch to apéritifs, from 7.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can be sure it’s on our list of must-visit places for our next Milan trip.
