Philly-based designer Najeeb Sheikh teams up with Eric Blumenfeld of the Divine Lorraine Hotel on a collaborative clothing collection. The joint venture came about after Sheikh debuted a first drop of the building-inspired collection at Lapstone & Hammer earlier this year. Once Blumenfeld caught sight of the line, the pair decided to create a second collection. With this, the duo have brought a revival back into the decaying building which was America’s first racially integrated hotel and home to the super wealthy.
The Divine Lorraine Collection saw the hotel’s abandoned lobby transformed into a one day-only pop-up shop. On September 16, the doors were open to the public for the first time since 1999. Thousands of people lined North Broad Street to get a glimpse of the derelict building in all its glory with the collection selling out in just the first two hours. The collection features everything from T-shirts and caps to backpacks and hoodies all emblazoned with an image of the hotel or “DIVINE” lettering.
The entire second collection plus a few web exclusives are available now online.
