The luxurious vodka brand, CÎROC, continues to work with legendary fashion photographer Mario Testino, uniting fashion, design and theatrical talents from around the world for an intimate project exploring the unique thrill of ‘arrival’. Following the launch in London and the last shoot using the stunning backdrop of Rio de Janeiro’s iconic coastline, Testino hand-picked Johannes Huebl to star in the latest series, set in an opulent Austrian Alpine chalet.

Testino used the surroundings of an après ski event to hone in on the unique atmosphere and sense of arrival felt with friends after a day on the slopes. The overall theme seems appropriate: both the drink label and Huebl himself are fresh on the scene with the German model making his first forays into the worlds of fashion and design, while CÎROC is being seen more and more in the destinations of choice, both during fashion weeks and also more widely. Meanwhile, Testino has become famous for his inimitable style of unique, elegant photography. His technique employs a delicate, almost observational touch to every photograph. A true polymath, Testino has also worked as a creative director, guest editor, museum founder, art collector and collaborator and as a general business entrepreneur too.

“I first noticed Johannes some years ago,” explained Testino on his choice of Huebl as the shoot’s focus. “It was great to work with him for this campaign. He is having his ‘arrival moment’ and following his passion for design. We wanted to celebrate that with this campaign and with everyone on the shoot. He is the perfect man for this campaign – intelligent, stylish and driven.”

Taking place in Sölden, Austria, over three thousand meters above sea-level and in the shadow of the stirring Gaislachkogl summit, the shoot works almost as a tribute to the iconic work of American socialite photographer Slim Aarons, who captured the private, celebratory moments of the rich and famous throughout the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s.

On working with Testino, Huebl commented: “He is a true artist and I love working with him. He has a gift and knows exactly when to capture the moment,” before adding: “Being selected by Mario Testino and CÎROC for the ‘On Arrival’ campaign is an honour.”
