Boiler Room and everyone’s favorite denim doyens, G-Star RAW, kicked off their new collaborative RAW Sessions series last night, with a party in Hackney’s Stour Space, London. Fashion-conscience hip-hop collective, Catford, kicked off the proceedings before neo-punk outfit, Skinny Girl Diet, took over in a night that essentially saw two different worlds of music and fashion collide.
Referencing renaissance, the night was informally labelled Cool Britannia 2.0 and saw key movers and shakers in music and fashion attend. Sets from Fergus McDonald (a.k.a. Hung, Drawn & Quartered), station manager of celebrated indie radio station NTS, completed the night, along with mixes from Boiler Room’s own host, Skinny, and house producer/DJ PYRMDPLAZA. As ever, the party was broadcast to thousands around the world.
The G-Star RAW x Boiler Room RAW Sessions continues with stops in Paris (October 20), Johannesburg (October 29) and Barcelona (November 12), with Manaré, Piu Piu, NSDos, Azamat, Boyzn Bucks, DJ Lag and more booked and confirmed to play.
To win two guest spots for the next Paris RAW Session, including two sets of flights and hotel stays in the French capital:
In each city, the brand and the broadcaster aim to capture a glimpse of the scene and the artists showcased in each metropolis. For London, it was Catford and Skinny Girl Diet, captured by up-and-coming filmmaker Mollie Mills in a short trailer for the London party.
