“Disruptive” and “premium” are two words that rarely appear alongside each other. However, Combatant Gentlemen, the American online tailor of finely crafted, 100% Italian wool suits, is quietly making waves and challenging the status quo when it comes to premium menswear and tailoring. With their suits starting out from $160, they comfortably sit in the affordable bracket of your average sartorially-aware male.
Launched in collaboration with GQ, their new collection for Fall/Winter 2015 continues that trend. Dubbed “The New Deal,” the collection covers key wardrobe essentials including their Navy Guncheck Slim Fit Suit ($220) to their on-trend Camel Wool Overcoats and Charcoal Wool Peacoats ($120 to $100 respectively). Launched with GQ, bold lines and classic cuts with a hint of the contemporary dominate the collection, while the color palettes remain seasonally, and suitably, muted.
Combat Gent is a vertically integrated company, meaning their production processes are more transparent which in turn allows them to maintain the quality of their wares across the production cycle. Responding to the concerns of astute, conscientious consumers, the fashion world is increasingly turning away from companies who are less honest, with Combat Gent joining the select few who’ve made a choice to be open and frank about how their garments are sourced and made.
