Danish sportwear brand hummel are re-releasing their quintessential basketball high top, the Globetrotter, in an extremely limited run in vintage white across France. This follows on from their earlier release in March in which the chevron label – synonymous with Danish sport, but which actually started life in Germany’s Hamburg – partnered with Japan’s atmos for a Globetrotter release in a full-grain black leather. First introduced in 1987, the Globetrotter was one of the first sneakers from the brand not to feature the famous two chevrons in full on the quarter since the hallmark started in 1923, featuring the chevron stamped on the sides.
The reissue, hitting key stores across France, such as Paris’ Printemps Haussmann and Black Rainbow, gets treated to a mellow colorway of pure white on the upper, finished with a cream sole unit paired with a pretty lush-looking eggshell collar. The run is accompanied with an extremely limited set of 15 tracksuits that were originally made by the brand from 1962 until 1975. Featuring extra wide chevrons and available only in monochrome, they, and the all-white Globetrotters, are only available while stocks last. Preview the shots above.
