Canadian architects Scott & Scott unveils its latest residential project based in Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver. Originally constructed in the 1950s, this mid-century home needed a modern facelift. What makes this project unique is the client and architect’s desire to use natural materials that are finished traditionally and take on signs of wear over time.
If you’re wondering how the entire countertop and sink appears to be one solid slab of marble, well, that’s because it is — an 800-kilogram slab to be exact. The owners hand-selected a suitable stone and had it milled to spec. We can only imagine the dent this put on the budget.
