Newly offered up from NikeLab is a collaborative collection alongside Stone Island. The partnership is a celebration of Nike’s Windrunner Jacket, which was created by Nike’s first apparel designer in 1978, and remains to be a track and field staple in 2015.
Now the pivotal sportswear silhouette is updated courtesy of Stone Island, benefitting from the engineering and garment-dyeing techniques that the Italian label has become renowned for.
Injected with modern technology from the Stone Island workshop, the all-new Windrunner is crafted from Mussola Gommata fabric, which is formed by bonding lightweight woven cotton to a polyurethane film. Additionally, Stone Island’s Nylon Metal fabric is featured on the body, adding a characteristic shimmer to the jacket’s exterior
Footwear is also accounted for, via a special makeup of the Nike Koth Ultra Mid SI sneaker-hiker hybrid. Partly inspired by the Nike Air Mowabb, the rugged, weatherproof shoe also benefits from the use of Stone Island’s Mussola Gommata fabric, while also featuring an all-weather outsole, phylon midsole and flexible ankle support.
Rounding out the release is a dust bag crafted from a mixture of Stone Island’s Nylon Metal and a cotton-nylon canvas blend.
