Where form meets function

Grotesk and Case Studyo have come together for a new pop culture-specific piece with their “Fuck A Dollar and A Dream” sculpture. The artwork is a nod to the late great Biggie Smalls, who made the mantra popular back in the ’90s. Limited to 20 units, the sculpture is meant to capture exactly what made Biggie such a unique voice and distinctive stylist.

“I wanted to pay homage to Biggie by getting to essence of his personality,” says Meyer. “He was an extremely raw MC but had a super-smooth delivery. That’s why I decided to do a sculpture using only raw wood and no paint. The object has a super-smooth finish that makes it somehow luxurious.”

The attitude and the posture of the piece can be altered due to the body, head and cap not being glued together. Handcrafted from ever-changing wood grain, each unit comes packaged in a screen-printed wooden box with a signed and numbered certificate by the artist.

Last year, Grotesk and Case Studyo joined forces on the unique “Boston” lamp.

Not NYC, not LA.
