Amidst the flurry of commercials that made their big debut during last night’s Super Bowl ceremony, 20th Century Fox unveiled an epic new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. While the previous film had Magneto levitating stadiums from the ground, this time around, the peril will be reaching a more global scale.
The film introduces one of the most powerful and sinister mutants from Marvel’s X-Men universe, Apocalypse, who, upon being awakened after thousands of years, recruits a team of fellow mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to rid mankind and start a new world order. Following a typical superhero movie formula, the fate of the Earth depends on Professor X (James McAvoy), Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and a squad of young X-Men as they attempt to defeat their greatest nemesis yet. (Hint: the good guys will probably win).
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, but check out the trailer for it above.
