Swedish musician Martin Molin has designed and built one of the more amazing music machines in recent memory. Dubbed the Wintergatan Music Machine, the handmade music box powers a kick drum, bass, vibraphone and various other instruments using a hand crank and 2,000 marbles. The apparatus is comprised of a number of intricately carved wooden parts, tracks, pulleys and funnels that in turn collect and route the marbles.

It took over a year (14 months) to complete the Wintergatan Music Machine, which was inspired by the existing marble machine subculture. Molin also plans to build additional machines, some of which are smaller, and some better four touring purposes for his band, Wintergatan.
