Now that Land Rover has ceased production of the Defender model, private owners are doing their best to sustain its legacy by any means possible. For Jay Hayden, founder of 31MM Adventure Vehicles, a lifelong fixation with the Land Rover marque led him to preserve the off-road heritage of a 2007 Land Rover Defender TD5. Dubbing his creation the 31MM AV One, Hayden’s personalized model features a 2.5L turbo diesel five-cylinder engine, with a hybrid turbocharger that churns out 220bhp. A grip of new components have been added to the all-black mod, making it a worthy promoter of the Defender’s rugged distinction.
