Chanel’s watch division has served the women’s market since 1987, but never before has it developed a watch specifically for men, until now. Dubbed the Monsieur de Chanel, the luxury label spent five years honing the design of a manual-winding mechanical movement called the Calibre 1, a double complication consisting of 170 components. The watch’s 240-degree display allows for the movement, an Instant Jumping Hour and retrograde minute indication, to take place, which means the minute hand jumps to zero at the start of each hour.
The Monsieur de Chanel will be released in a total of 300 examples: 150 in beige gold and 150 in white gold.
