Skepta has dropped his latest track “Man” ahead of the release of his highly-anticipated fifth album, Konnichiwa, next month.
The track is a boisterous street banger about keeping it tight with his original gang as fan boys and fakers start to claim to have known him before his rise to fame. Built around a typical booming production and an atypical screeching guitar lick, “Man” is a statement of intent with Skepta proclaiming, “I’ll be schooling MCs, nobody leaves ’til half past three, this year I’ma teach them a lesson.”
The drop comes just days after Skepta revealed the full album tracklist, release date and cover art, and speaking last night to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the London MC finally confirmed his album will contain the long-rumored collab with Pharrell Williams. Hype levels are at maximum.
“Man” is available as a free download when you pre-order Konnichiwa (released May 6) over at the iTunes store.
Skepta also recently revealed why he only wears tracksuits and trainers.
