A new report by reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple are planning to completely redesign the iPhone, ditching the longstanding aluminum chassis in favor of an all-glass enclosure, and corroborating previous rumors.

It is believed that Apple will make the move to glass next year in an attempt to differentiate themselves from their competitors, who have all converted to aluminum designs in recent years. The redesign would freshen up the iPhone range, but would almost certainly be met by some with skepticism following the easily-smashed glass backs on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. Glass would, however, be ideal for wireless charging and boosting reception.
