Dan has been inking in the Southern California area for the better part of a decade, but as he explains in the video, he still continually finds new ways to hone his craft. He also discusses the relationship an artist now has with Instagram, finding a niche in traditional American tattooing, and how a convention visit isn’t all that different from working in his shop.

From April 30 – May 1, the Brighton Tattoo Convention takes place in the iconic English seaside town and rounds up some of the best tattoo artists in the world.

Be sure to check out our previous installment of the series with graffiti-trained tattoo artist Norm Will Rise.
